Acer’s latest 11.6 inch thin and light laptop with an AMD chipset is now available for purchase. Amazon is selling the Acer Aspire One 721 for $429.99 plus free shipping.

The laptop, which was introduced last month, features a 1.7GHz AMD Athlon II Neo processor and ATI Radeon HD 4225 graphics with 384MB of dedicated video memory. That should give the laptop a little more oomph than your typical Intel Atom-powered netbook, and an awful lot more graphics power. The graphics processor can handle HD video playback and 3D graphics acceleration.

Rounding out the specs are an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel HD display, 250GB hard drive, 2GB of memory, and Windows 7 Home Premium. The laptop has 3 USB ports, Bluetooth, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, a 1.3MP webcam, and a 4400mAh battery. It weighs 3.1 pounds.
