It seems like every new tablet and netbook that’s announced these days is labeled by someone as an iPad killer. So let me go on the record and say that this tablet from China is not an iPad killer — largely because you’ll probably never get your hands on one. What it is, is a pretty convincing looking iPad clone running a custom version of Google Android that’s been skinned to look like the iPhone/iPad operating system.

There are some other notable differences, of course. The clone has a widescreen display, while the iPad has a 1024 x 768 pixel display. And the iPad uses Apple’s ARM-based A4 processor, while the clone has a different 600MHz ARM-based CPU, 256MB of storage, and comes with 1GB to 64GB of flash storage.

Shnzhaiben reports that the tablet will be available with a 7 inch display starting April 1st. A 10 inch model is due out in May.
