As expected, Gigabyte has officially introduced the Gigabyte T1000 series tablet-style netbook. Like the T1028X, the new T1000 features a 10.1 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display that you can fold over the keyboard for use in tablet mode. But the new model comes with Windows 7 and a choice of a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 or 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 CPU.

Rounding out the specs are 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1, and a built-in HSDPA 3G modem. You also get an ExpressCard slot, flash card reader, 2 USB ports, a combo UBS/eSATA port, 250GB hard drive, and up to 2GB of RAM.

There are two different models in the T1000 series. The T1000X looks like it will be the cheaper version, with an Atom N450 CPU, 4 cell battery, Windows 7 Starter, and a resistive touchscreen display. The T1000P will have a faster N470 CPU, 6 cell battery, and capacitive multitouch display. It’s not clear whether the Gigabyte T1000P comes with Windows 7 Starter or another version of Windows 7.

  1. Brad,

Not to nit pick but you have a typo (sort of). “and up to GB of RAM” doesn’t help me much. I’m assuming that’s 2, but it could be 4, which would tell me how many Dimm slots they have on this puppy.

    Thanks
