VIA has introduced a new computer-on-a-module called the EPIA-T700. It’s the first module to use VIA’s new Mobile-ITX platform which measures just 6 centimeters by 6 centimeters. That’s just under 2.4 inches by 2.4 inches.
The platform is designed more for portability than power. The EPIA-T700 uses a 1GHz VIA Eden ULV processor, VIA Chrome9 graphics, and 512MB of RAM. The system features integrated PCI Express and Ultra DMA capabilities. The EPIA-T700 is fanless and VIA expects it to end up in dedicated applications for medical, military, or vehicular use.
The system supports display connections to LCD panels and CRT monitors. You can also add the system onto a carrier board to add support for LVDS or DVI connections.
