jetway nettop2

System builder Jetway doesn’t generally sell computers under its own name. That probably explains why the company’s latest barebones nettop has such an awkward name: The JBC230C63P-330D-W. Odds are that if this PC ever hits the streets it will be repackaged and sold under a different brand name from a computer company you have heard of.

That said, the JBC230… the nettop is a pretty nice looking entry into the mini-desktop space. It has NVIDIA ION graphics and a dual core Intel Atom 330 CPU and comes with a remote control. It features a heatsink and a few fans, but the folks at TweakTown found the nettop to be pretty quiet anyway.

Jetway sent them a demo unit to review, and TweakTown has posted an unboxing video, which you can check out below.

Bear in mind, this computer is a barebones system. That means it comes sans RAM, hard drive, and operating system. There’s clearly no final word on pricing. But  here’s what you do get: HDMI VGA, and DVI outputs, a total of 8 USB ports (2 on the front, 6 on the back), and room for an optical disc drive.

While there are certainly smaller NVIDIA ION-based nettops available, the Jetway model looks like a rather versatile little box that could work pretty well as a home theater PC or a low power desktop.

  1. Add ones own hard drive, memory and os? I guess if one wanted a system where one could chose what one wanted to add – os wise – this would be great. It would be nice to know what the pricing is or will be.

  2. I’m actually able to get Jetway from suppliers up in Canada. They’re about on par with PC Chips and the like as far as build quality go, though – usually a little lacking.

  3. I hope to see more little guys like this as the ASRock ION is sold out at Newegg as is the Revo 330 and Zotac Mag HD box.
This is already for sale at Newegg!
