caszh ca-l11b

Caszh is a Chinese PC maker that’s been pumping out some interesting mini-laptops recently, including one of the first 10 inch laptops I’ve heard of that uses NVIDIA ION graphics. The folks at Shanzai decided to take one of Caszh’s newer models for a spin, and they’ve posted a review of the CA-11B, an 11.1 inch model with an HD display and a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU.

The laptop has a 1366 x 768 pixel display, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. It has the usual array of ports, plus a SIM card slot for use with an optional 3G module. It measures 10.6″ x 7.6″ x 1.1″ and weighs 2.6 pounds.

With Windows XP and integrated Intel GMA 950 graphics, Shanzai found that the laptop could handle 720p video playback decently.

If it sounds like Caszh didn’t cut any corners, that’s because I haven’t told you about the battery yet. It’s just a 3 cell, 2200mAh battery, and Shanzai reports that the CA-L11B ran for just 1 hour and 39 minutes in BatteryMark, which is pretty pathetic.

It’s also interesting to note that the laptop arrives in a cardboard box with a picture of a completely different notebook. The model pictured on the box looks like a Sony Vaio P clone with a pointing stick instead of a touchpad, while the CA-L11B has a standard touchpad below the keyboard.

The Caszh CA-L11B is avaialble now in China. I don’t expect to see it in the West anytime soon.

  1. I think any thing over 10 inches would be considered a mini-laptop or just a notebook computer.

I agree, the battery is pitiful; an hour and half? I think they could do better.

    1. Well, when they know they’ve got a good thing, they really stick with it. I think they must be very fond of that flower 🙂
