Lenovo

Lenovo has finally begun offering a version of the IdeaPad S12 laptop with NVIDIA ION graphics. The company first promised to make an ION version available when it launched 12.1 inch laptop in May.

You’ll end up paying $150 to $200 more to get the version with ION graphics, but it’s not just the graphics processor that’s recieved an upgrade. For $599 you can get an IdeaPad S12 with 2GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive, a 6 cell battery and Windows 7 Home Premium. $649 will get you a 320GB hard drive and 3GB of RAM.

Or for $449 you can still pick up a model with Windows XP, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive. All three of these models feature 1.6GHz Intel Atom processors and 802.11b/g WiFi.

There’s also a $429 version with a 1.3GHz VIA NANO ULV 2250 processor, 1GB of RAM, and a 160GB hard drive.

While it’s nice to see Lenovo offer an NVIDIA ION option after all these months, it would be nice if the company had something priced a bit more competitive with the HP Mini 311, an 11.6 inch laptop with NVIDIA ION graphics that starts at just $399.99.
