lenovo ideapad s10-2 3g

Netbook Philippines member ranns posted some of the first unboxing photos of the Lenovo Ideapad S10-2 a few weeks ago. Now he’s gone a few steps further and created one of the first tutorials for adding an internal 3G modem to the netbook.

Lenovo is expected to release a version of the S10-2 with an integrated 3G modem in the future, but right now the netbook ships with plain old WiFi. So ranns did a little digging and discovered that a certain type of Ericsson F3507g modem should work. The whole hack takes about 10 minutes, and with the right unlocked 3G card and possibly the addition of an antenna, you should be up and running in no time. For complete details, check out ranns’ forum post.

thanks chiemartin!
