What goes together better than a video store that rents and sells DVDs and a netbook without an optical disc drive? Right, just about everything. Still, I suppose it makes some sense that Blockbuster would partner with Archos to sell the Archos 10 netbook in retail outlets across the US.

After all, Blockbuster and Archos are both kinda, sorta, in the media and entertainment business. Nevermind the fact that normally when you purchase an Archos 10 you get a free credit at the Archos Media Club which lets you download music and movies from a service that competes with Blockbuster’s video store. It’s not quite clear from the press release whether you get that Archos Media Club credit when you purchase a Blockbuster model. But you do get an “embedded link to www.lockbuster.com.”

The Archos 10 will sell for $299.99 at Blockbuster stores. The netbook sports a 10 inch display, 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, Windows XP, and802.11b/g WiFi.
