compal ktv00

Taiwanese computer maker Compal’s KTV00 is an interesting looking netbook with a wide, Dell Inspiron Mini 10-like touchpad  with integrated mousebuttons. Sascha from Netbook News spotted the mini-laptop at Intel’s booth at Computex last week, and shot a short video which you can find after the break.

The demo unit was running Moblin 2.0 beta, a custom version of Linux designed for netbooks, but the laptop has a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU which means it should be able to handle Windows, Ubuntu, or other operating systems just fine. And since Compal is an ODM, odds are this netbook will be rebranded and sold under a different name, possibly with a different operating system by the time it reaches the US.
