archos 10s video

Archos plans to launch its new Archos 10s netbook in Europe by the end of June. The company first introduced the thinner and lighter sequel to the Archos 10 a few days ago, and now the folks at ArchosFans have posted a video from a recent event with more details about the netbook.

First, it appears that the awkward looking touchpad shown in the pictures isn’t the final product. Archos is still working on the touchpad, and hopefully when the unit ships it will have larger buttons, although I doubt there’s space to move them to the bottom of the touchpad.

The laptop will measure just 22 mm or about 0.87 inches thick, and weigh 1kg or about 2.2 pounds. Like other ultrathin netbooks, Archos wasn’t able to fit a full sized VGA port on the side of the unit. Instead there’s a port for a VGA adapter dongle.

The Archos 10S will sell for 379 Euros with a 3 cell battery. A version with a 4 cell battery will set you back 399 Euros. Customers will also get 100 Euros of credit for the Archos Media Store, which can be used to pay for movie downloads. No word on the US pricing yet.

You can check out the hands-on video of the 10s from ArchosFans after the break.
