Sure, part of what makes a netbook is the fact that it’s small, light, and ultraportable. But you know what else you can do with a small computer? Cram it into rather unusual places, like say, the shell of a Super Nintendo system. That’s what the folks at Asobitech are in the process of doing.
This little hack job requires 1 Acer Aspire One 8.9 inch netbook, a SNES, and the willingness to rip both apart. The motherboard from the netbook fits inside the video game console, but not without a bit of dremelling to remove some plastic.
While the new system doesn’t have an LCD display, it does have a DVD-RW drive — hidden inside a game cartridge. Hitting the SNES eject button even ejects discs.
The project is still a work in progress. But it’s already a pretty awesome looking little desktop PC that happens to be small, relatively cheap, and low power.

also i’ve stuck it on eBay for those of you that want to own it.
eBay removed my listing for the aaSNES1 SNES PC case mod, had to relist it all over again. – Bid on the aaSNES1 at https://is.gd/157uD
had a few hiccups along the way, but so very nearly close to finish now. just gotta iron a few things out.
Check the update on the website.
I plan on doing this with a mini-itx motherboard, just not with an SNES. I have a few viable candidates in old DVD players and several toys.
