HP is taking orders for the recently launched Mini 1101 netbook. The laptop has a base price of $329 and comes with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, a 10.1 inch, 1024 x 576 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi, a 3 cell battery, and pretty much no customization options.
There’s also a pre-order page for the HP Mini 110, which is similar to the 1101, but which will come in a variety of colors, an optional high resolution display, and a choice of operating systems (Windows XP or Ubuntu Linux with HP’s Mi Edition user interface).
The HP Mini 110 is a consumer-oriented model, while the Mini 1101 is aimed at business customers. That explains the solid black (and only black) color scheme.
