hackintosh-10v

The Dell Inspiron Mini 10v is now shipping in the US, and some of the first unboxing photos are hitting the web. But just in case unboxing photos aren’t good enough, MyDellMini forum member Anguish has taken the keyboard off to peer inside the unit and demonstrate that the RAM can easily be upgraded to 2GB. Oh yeah, and he also decided to install OS X on the netbook. Apparently WiFi, Bluetooth, and audio all work with a little bit of fiddling.l But you’ll need to disable USB BIOS legacy support in order for the computer to resume properly from sleep.

  1. Can anybody guess why the hackintoshable 10v is the only mini 10 that does not have the 1366*768 screen option?

    1. You make it sound as if there are many ‘mini 10’ variants and this is the only one that doesn’t have that option. There are two only two. Why the ‘mini 10v’ doesn’t have that screen option and the ‘mini 10’ isn’t clear. Maybe because the latter costs more — profit is always a good motive. A conspiracy to prevent people from making higher resolution hackintoshes is probably not the reason.

    2. It is using hardware much more similar to the Mini 9 then the regular 10. The LCD connector on the Mini 9 and Mini 10v are the same, on the regular 10 it is different.
