The Asus Eee PC T91 isn’t available yet, but the folks at TechRadar got to spend some time with a pre-production unit and have posted a tentative review. While some of the touchscreen software still needs some work, TechRadar came away from their experiences pretty impressed.

The swiveling touchscreen, which really sets this netbook apart from most of the competition. But it’s not the only new thing on this netbook. The Eee PC T91 is also the first Asus netbook to use the 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 processor, which uses less energy than the 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU found in most Eee PC models. This helps boost battery life without sacrificing too much performance. And the computer uses the US15W chipset which features HD video decoding capabilities so that the netbook handles 720p HD video (at least in some formats) smoothly.

On the down side, TechRadar reports that the Eee PC T91 suffers from one flaw that also plagues the new Asus Eee PC 1008HA: A non-user removable battery.

  2. that’s an interesting “reflection” of the stylus… who mocked that up without thinking? LOL

  3. I wonder if there will be larger storage options than the 32GB SSD?
