asus-eee-pc-1002haeAsus CEO Jonney Shih may have admitted that Asus introduced too many Eee PC models in 2008. But that doesn’t appear to be stopping the company from slapping extra letters onto the names of existing netbooks and offering slightly upgraded specs. The latest victim recipient: The Asus Eee PC 1002HA. Next week Asus will release an updated model called the Eee PC 1002HAE in Japan.

So what’s new in the Eee PC 1002HAE? It sports a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N280 CPU with a faster clock and bus speed than the 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU found in the 1002HA. And the new model will be available with red, blue, or grey aluminum bodies. The 1002HA is only available in “argent grey”

The Eee PC 1002HAE will be available in Japan on May 16th for ¥49,800 or about $501 US.

  1. I am waiting for the 1002HALLELUYAH model – the last of the 1002 line up.

  2. I can’t wait until Asus decides to release the Eee PC 1003HAI Limited edition Lolcat version.

They really need to slow down with all these variations.
