1008ha-drivers

Asus is set to begin shipping the Eee PC 1008HA any day now. This is the company’s thinnest and lightest netbook with a 10 inch screen to date, and Asus has been teasing us with pictures of it for months. Last week we heard a rumor that the netbook could be available in June. But I’m starting to think it could hit the streets even sooner than that, because Asus just posted a series of drivers for the upcoming laptop on its support web site.

There’s nothing too exciting on the support page right now. You can find BIOS, chipset, power interface, audio, SATA, Bluetooth, and camera drivers for Windows XP. There’s only a BIOS file available for Linux users at the moment. But the fact that Asus is making these support files available would seem to indicate that there will be a computer available to support soon.

Update: Portable Monkey reports that the 1008HA is available for pre-order in the UK.
