Dell has added an option to the Inspiron Mini 10 order page allowing you to grab a 6 cell, 55WHr battery for just $30 more than the standard 3 cell, 24WHr battery. This should provide Mini 10 users with at least twice the run time.

I haven’t seen any photos of the new battery yet, so I can’t say how much bulk the extended battery will add to the bottom of your netbook. If anyone bites the bullet and orders one, hit me up through the contact link. I’d love to see some photos.

There’s still no word on other upcoming features like the anticipated TV tuner and GPS options.

  1. It would have to be a very odd shape. My hp mini’s battery does not reach the back of the frame so IDK what it would look like. I do wish they had the option 2 weeks ago when I bought mine though.

  2. I can’t believe they give you no information about the size and shape of the battery! If it sticks out dramatically from the bottom or back, I imagine that some folks who order one without considering this will be quite unhappy.

How long would it take to snap a photo and include it on the webpage (instead of the “sample image only”) they show?
