Verizon has already confirmed its plans to sell netbooks in its retail stores. The company hasn’t yet declared which mini-laptops it will make available, or at what price, but it’s looking pretty likely that the HP Mini 1000 will be one of the first.

Hot on the heels of a rumor that Verizon and HP have been talking, Boy Genius Report got a screengrab from an anonymous source showing the HP Mini 11151NR on Verizon’s list of retail approved devices. That 11151NR designation is just another word for a version of the HP Mini 1000, likely with a built in EV-DO modem.

If Verizon follows the lead of AT&T, another wireless company that has begun offering netbook deals, the company will likely offer the HP Mini 1000 at a deep discount to customers who sign up for a 2 year service plan. So while you could easily wind up paying well over $1000 over the life of your contract, you might be able to pick up a netbook for $99 or less up front.
