LG is running a contest to find a description for its X120 mini-laptop than “netbook.” It’s not clear whether the company is trying to avoid a lawsuit from trademark-holder Psion, or just looking for a whimsical way to make “LG X120” sound a bit sexier.

Either way, the company is giving away 3 LG X120 laptops to the contestants who come up with the most popular, most creative, and most stylish names. The contest is only open to Canadian residens, and if you live in Quebec you’re out of luck.

I dunno, they’re strippers are legendary…. so much so that they export them to underdeveloped regions like Toronto.

Chez Paree, Le SuperSexe, Cabaret Wanda, Les Amazones, Chez Mado are the reasons I want to move there, well that and you can buy beer at any convenience store and their pot is as good as BC bud.

    Lucky bastards.

  2. I bought an LG LRA-850 (VCR-like DVD recorder) before and it was complete junk. I will *NEVER* buy any other LG product again. I suggest naming the LG netbook LGarbage. I’m sure I would have as much fun with it and a hammer as I did with their crap recorder.

    1. Thanks!

I just updated a web site caching plugin and hadn’t noticed that it
      took the site down!

Should be back to normal now.

  3. They should call it the IBM mini-notebook. The name is already registered, but IBM hasn’t made notebooks in awhile, and think of the name recognition they’d get. (It seems to be working for all the companies using the name “netbook,” registered by Psion) (just kidding 🙂

    1. IBM has one very large and very fierce legal department – –
Better that you go play with the great white sharks at the local aquarium.

      1. It just dawned on me: Brad should register the name Liliputer! Then people would realize the value of it and start stealing it. Soon it would spread over the virutal world…

  4. we (as liliputer-ians) all go vote on the LG-Liliputer. Just to see.

  5. How about the X120 ScrewPsionBook, they could claim satirical exemption
