The Asus Eee PC 1008HA netbook has been getting a lot of attention of the last few days because of its hardware design. The thin and light laptop represents a bit of a departure for Asus, which has been better known for making rather chunky netbooks in the past. But the chassis isn’t the only thing that’s new in the 1008HA. Asus has also developed a new piece of software that acts as an application dock for the company’s Windows apps.
Notebook Italia has posted a short video demonstrating how the dock works, and giving a brief overview of the applications. In a nutshell, you have access to a new Eee Arena area for online multimedia content, an Eee Sharing section for synchronizing your data online with the EeeStorage service. There’s also an EeeXperience section for managing audio and video content, and a tools section that provides access to various settings including the ability to replace the normal Windows desktop with an Easy Mode program launcher much like the one Asus uses on its netbooks running Xandros Linux.
You can find the complete video after the break.
