1000hg-taiwanThe Asus Eee PC 1000HG has broken cover in Taiwan, where it’s selling for NT $18,980 or about $565 US. I’m going to go out on a limb and assume that this model bears a more than passing resemblance to the Eee PC 1003HG Go that was on display at CES.

According to the Asus naming conventions, the G stands for 3G connectivity. So this computer is basically an Eee PC 1000H with a 1.6GHz Intel Atom N270 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 160GB hard drive, 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth, a 6 cell battery, and a built in 3.5G modem that can connect to HSDPA and HSUPA networks.

It’s not clear if or when this model will be available in the west.
