acer-aspire-two

The 10.1 inch Acer Aspire One AOD 150 may still be warm, but it looks like Acer already has a new model up its sleeve. Macles has obtained a few pictures of a new netbook that looks a lot like the AOD150, but has a thinner chassis, and the 2 SD card slots, much like the original Aspire One netbooks.

The first generation Aspire One netbooks with 8.9 inch displays ran Linpus Linux Lite and had relatively small solid state disks instead of hard drives. You could use one of those SD card slots for removable storage, while using the other as an expansion slot. Just stick in a 4GB, 8GB, or larger SDHC card and Linpus would recognize it as if it were internal storage space. This feature is not available for Windows. And that would seem to indicate that this new Acer model could have a solid state disk and be available in Linux.

No word on pricing, availability, or other specs.

One reply on “Acer working on yet another netbook model?”

  1. I’m sad to see Acer sticking to this EeePC style monitor attachment. It makes for a much bulkier look when open.
