Most mini-laptops available today feature integrated graphics, which are good enough for most common work-related tasks, but generally stink at playing the latest video games for hardcore gamers. (Think Crysis, not Line Rider). But that could change… eventually.
NVIDIA, maker of high end and not-so-high-end graphics chips is watching the netbook space carefully. Earlier this year the company announced a plan to work with CPU maker VIA to produce graphics chips for netbooks, only to later scrap that plan. But according to PC World, NVIDIA hasn’t given up on netbooks. Rather, the company wants to see how the market evolves and whether there’s a demand for higher performance graphics on low cost ultraportable machines.
It’s possibel that NVIDIA could eventually offer dedicated graphics processors for low power subnotebooks, but it’s also possible that the company could work with Intel, VIA, or other chip makers to create a new integrated graphics solution that offers better performance than existing solutions.

Rumor is Nvidia has been flirting with the idea of creating their own x86 compatible processor. They already do chipsets. An all in one solution for a netbook would be the perfect place to try it all out.
Or someone like TI – They make chips and ARM cores can be licensed – –

Wow, I thought NVIDIA Tegra 600 Series would have been something NVIDIA would/should have been pushing for Netbooks. Tegra would easily allowed a Netbook to play 3D computer games, and yet it is made for the power needs of MIDs (Mobile Internet Devices).
To hear they are lukewarm or usure on the idea is sad, they should be pushing for this.
The netbook market hits all the big player’s pocketbooks by limiting their profits. Don’t expect them to rush to cannibalize their own profits. We can only hope new companies can rise to market and use this opportunity to establish themselves.
