Dell Inspiron Mini 9 Black Friday ad

Netbooks already make great presents during an economic downturn because they’re generally cheaper than full sized laptop computers. But at least a few computer makers and retailers are planning on slashing prices a bit further for Black Friday sales.

Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the US, and it’s traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year, and the point at which many US retailers turn a profit for the year, putting them “in the black.” It’s anybody’s guess whether we’ll see the kind of shopping frenzy this year that we’ve seen in years past, but companies are doing their part to promote consumerism by offering deep discounts.

Here are a few good deals I’ve already found for Black Friday deals:

  • As previously mentioned, Dell will be chopping $50 off the price of its base model Inspiron Mini 9 netbook, bringing the price down to $299 for the day.
  • Micro Center is continuing its pre-black Friday promotion and offering an MSI Wind U100 netbook for $299.99 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while supplies last.
  • Newegg will be offering an Acer Aspire One with 512MB of RAM and an 8GB SSD for $249.99, which is $50 off the list price.

For more deals on netbooks, make sure to check out 13 netbooks for $399 or less. Or if you see any other Black Friday, pre-Black Friday, or holiday netbook sales that we should know about, let us know in the comments!

thanks Dave!

  1. When my friend was debating this summer whether to buy an Acer One for 377$, I told him that it would be around 250$ by Xmas and he poopooed it.

When the next gens come out, there are going to be a fewf 9inch netbooks in the 200-250$ range.
So instead of a gameboy and two games, it will be netbooks hopefully people will buy for their kids.

More than any other announcement here these past few months, I think sub 250$ netbooks is what Im looking forward to the most.
