Netbooks already make great presents during an economic downturn because they’re generally cheaper than full sized laptop computers. But at least a few computer makers and retailers are planning on slashing prices a bit further for Black Friday sales.
Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving in the US, and it’s traditionally one of the busiest shopping days of the year, and the point at which many US retailers turn a profit for the year, putting them “in the black.” It’s anybody’s guess whether we’ll see the kind of shopping frenzy this year that we’ve seen in years past, but companies are doing their part to promote consumerism by offering deep discounts.
Here are a few good deals I’ve already found for Black Friday deals:
- As previously mentioned, Dell will be chopping $50 off the price of its base model Inspiron Mini 9 netbook, bringing the price down to $299 for the day.
- Micro Center is continuing its pre-black Friday promotion and offering an MSI Wind U100 netbook for $299.99 on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while supplies last.
- Newegg will be offering an Acer Aspire One with 512MB of RAM and an 8GB SSD for $249.99, which is $50 off the list price.
