The Asus Eee PC 901 typically comes with a 6 cell, 6600mAh battery, which is good for 4 to 5 hours of continuous use. But a member of the French Blogeee forums discovered something interesting upon ordering an Asus Eee PC 901 Go (the model with a built in 3G modem). It came with an 8700mAh battery, which should provide around 7 hours of battery life per charge.
The Eee PC 901 Go also appears to have a single 16GB solid state disk, whereas most other Eee PC models break up the storage into two separate disks, one for the operating system and another for file storage. The disk that holds the operating system is often faster and smaller than the storage disk.
It’s not clear if Asus has any plans to offer high capacity batteries and single SSDs on other models, but it looks like there’s reason for hope. The Asus Eee PC 901 Go is now shipping in Europe, but it’s unavailable in the US.

Update:Â It appears this may be a regular Eee PC 901, not the Eee PC 901 Go, which would seem to indicate that Asus may be shipping an upgraded model to some customers!
the EEE PC 901 BK051X (Black revsion 5 Win XP) the older version is BK041X
The EEEPC 901 Go SFR and EEEPC 901 T Moblie germany is revsion 041X
But in Italia they have a EEE PC 901 Go with the single SSD 16Gb

Eh? Asus has been doing the single SSD since July. Our 900 from directron in July came that way and the 16GB models now dominate at places like Amazon.
I think the main thrust here is that the battery is more powerful, but after checking the Blogeee thread, on page two (here) it looks like they’re saying that this 16GB SSD is faster than usual also. Maybe someone more familiar with the read/write speeds of the older 16GB SSD will weigh in.
This is getting me interested in the 901 again.
You gotta love it when they send you an upgraded machine!
Progress is a wonderful thing. I just wonder why Asus isn’t saying anything about it. Actually I would expect them to bring it out as a new model. 😉
I think you have made a mistake, this is not the 901 Go (the model with a built in 3G modem) which is sold in France by SFR with 2 SSD. Blogeee talk about a normal 901.
Probably, the mistake come from the fact you read Go on the post from Blogee, but Go in France is for Giga-Octets=Giga-Bytes
EDIT :
In France, now 900 with XP have also 16GB :
