mobile-pc-meetupNope, that’s not the setup for a joke. It’s actually happening right now in Germany. Eee PC News and Eee PC.de are hosting a meetup, and Chippy from UMPC Portal counted at least 25 mobile PCs, including a Nokia N810, and a whole slew of Eee PCs and other netbooks.

If you happen to speak German, you can check out a live stream/chat room right now. Or if you just want to see all of the netbook eye candy, check out Chippy’s video after the break.

Update: Make sure to visit Eee PC News to see a collection of photos from the event. If you’ve ever wondered what a dozen netbooks stacked on top of one another look like, now’s your chance to find out.

  1. A lot of people seem to carry mouse with their netbook…WTF?! Sometimes I wonder why almost every laptop on the market has touchpad, it seems they are so awefull that many people simply use mouse.

BUT…I’d like my netbook to be truly portable… (hey, trackpoint is good enough even for recreational AND satisfactionary Diablo playing – been there, done that)

Yeah…why oh why Lenovo won’t bring version of their netbook with trackpoint?…

    1. They must be saving it for some future, tiny X-61 spinoff that would be a ~$1000-1500US priced step-up from netbooks, for people who are too rich or fancy to bother with netbooks 🙁 (I’m not rich or fancy, but I would be tempted to buy one.)

    2. What’s trackpoint? The little red nubbin that you found on the old Thinkpads?
I absolutely love those on my old laptop.
I can not figure out why no one has brought at least one model out with one of those? Does IBM have a patent on this?
You can use much more of the keyboard space if you dont have the trackpad.
I prefer to use a wireless USB mouse with my Acer 1.

So, does anyone use an EEE there?
