Pioneer Computers has released a new netbook with an 8.9 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display and a 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU. The IL3 starts at $599 Australian, or about $524 US, but customers can customize their order to some degree. You can’t alter the hard drive size or add 802.11n or anything. But you can have Pioneer partition your hard drive and/or install multiple operating systems for you. Here’s a rundown of the basic specs:

  • CPU: 1.6GHz Intel Atom CPU
  • Display: 8.9 inch, 1024 x 600 pixels

  • Storage: 60GB 1.8″ PATA HDD
  • OS: Ubuntu Linux (Windows XP or Vista optional)

  • Battery: 4 cell or 6 cell
