As you may have guessed from my last post on the Everun Note, I’m a bit reluctant to call an $879 subnotebook a liliputer, netbook, or anything else that seems to imply cheap. But the upcoming laptop from Raon Digital is certainly sexy, what with its dual core AMD CPU and it’s diminutive size. If that’s the sort of thing you can get excited about, it looks like you won’t have to wait too long to get your hands on one.
UMPC Portal reports that Raon Digital will begin shipping units on September 19th, and you should be able to pick one up from a reseller the following week. Or you could buy 2 or 3 Dell Inspiron Minis instead.
Chippy at UMPC Portal also got his hands on a product manual and discovered a few interesting things about the notebook. For example, the front side bus will automatically clock down a bit when you’re running on battery power. While this will help prolong battery life, it means you’ll take a performance hit when you’re away from a wall socket. For more details, make sure to check out the full article at UMPC Portal.
Agreed. A true lillputer would need to have both small size and small price. A near $900 price tag? Ouch.
