Czech electronics makers Eltrinex have released a mini-notebook sporting a 1.6GHz VIA C7-M CPU, a 10.2 inch display, 1GB of RAM and a whole lot of storage capacity. The Eltrinex MobilePC has a 320GB hard drive, which is not only larger than the hard drives you find in most netbooks, its larger than the hard drives you’ll find in most full sized laptops.
Eltrinex is also selling a USB DVD-RW drive, which seems to be included in the price. The MobilePC seems to retail for between 11,990 CZK and 12,899 which is about $700 to $760 US.
Here’s a complete rundown of the specs:

thanks bedn1!
Another thing to consider…..I own an EEE 701, and 1000h, and walking into Best Buy the other day they had an external Western Digital “My Book” that has 320GB of storage space for $78. I don’t know about most people, but 320GB for $78, usb 2.0 plug in (although it needs an external power source) is truly worth snatching up.
Just an FYI
Let me just add what is not evident from the English translation on the Eltrinex site:
– the netbook does not come with Windows XP, it is “optimized for Windows XP”
– you get an external DVD-RW drive (which costs about the same as Win XP, as far as I know)
– if the price seems high, let me point out that all netbooks are much more expensive here in the Czech Republic than in the US, so the Eltrinex price roughly corresponds to MSI Wind over here
