This is kind of a no-brainer, but it looks like the next version of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet will have a speedier processor than the current model. The folks at BGR got a look a Research in Motion’s 2012 roadmap, and it looks like the new PlayBook will have a 1.5 GHz processor. Right now RIM is selling a PlayBook…

BlackBerry PlayBook orders reduced due to low demand

BlackBerry PlayBook

Research in Motion’s BlackBerry PlayBook tablet isn’t selling very well. While the company had hoped to ship at least 4 million tablets this year, it appears that fewer than 800 thousand BlackBerry tablets were shipped in the first half of 2011, and it’s not clear how many of those are still sitting on store shelves (instead of in customers’ hands). The company…

BlackBerry PlayBook price cuts, software updates on the horizon

BlackBerry PlayBook

The BlackBerry PlayBook isn’t selling very well. Today Research in Motion executives noted that the company shipped 200,000 BlackBerry tablets during the latest quarter. We don’t know how many people have actually bought them because shipments only tell you how…

Things aren’t looking good for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet. Research in Motion is reporting its quarterly earnings today, and the company announced that it shipped 200,000 tablets during the quarter. That’s about one half to one third of what analysts had expected. The figure also only tells us how many PlayBook tablets were sent to stores, wireless carriers, and other partners….

RIM: More than 500,000 BlackBerry PlayBooks shipped

BlackBerry Playbook

The BlackBerry PlayBook may not be selling in iPad-like quantities, but Research in Motion says it has shipped more than half a million PlayBooks so far. That’s not bad for product that just went on sale in April, especially one that doesn’t run any of the thousands of third party apps designed for BlackBerry smartphones. The PlayBook is a 7…
