Asus bumps entry level netbook specs to include DDR3 memory

How much difference does DDR3 RAM make in netbooks?

Not much. Netbook makers are starting to ship netbooks with new Intel Atom N455 and N475 processors that support DDR3 memory. They have the same clock speed and other features as earlier Intel Atom processors. The only difference is that they use DDR3 RAM instead of DDR2. Toshiba introduces updated 10 inch netbooks

Toshiba is giving its 10 inch netbooks a slight spec bump today, by introducing models with support for DDR3 memory. Acer Aspire One 533 with DDR3 memory coming soon

Acer is reportedly preparing to launch a new 10 inch netbook with support for Intel’s new Atom N455 and N475 processors.
