Acer is expanding its Revo line of tiny desktop computers with a new model called the Revo Base.
The computer measures about 5.5″ x 5.5″ x 2.1″, making the Revo Base a little larger than an Intel NUC computer. But under the hood, this little system will be available with up to an Intel Core i7 processor, up to 8GB of RAM, and up to 2TB of storage.
It can also support dual displays and has a decent range of ports for expansion.
Acer will offer models with up to 256GB of solid state storage or hard drives with capacities up to 2TB. But if you want more storage or more than 8GB of RAM, you can open the case and perform upgrades yourself.
The system has four USB 3.1 ports (two on the front, and two on the back), 802.11ac WiFi, Gigabit Ethernet, DisplayPort and HDMI, and an SD card slot for removable storage.
Acer says the Revo Base will be available in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa in the first quarter of 2017 for €429 ($478) and up. There’s no word on if or when this model will be available in North America.
