The Gigabyte Aero 14 laptop measures 0.8 inches thick and weighs about 4.2 pounds. It’s hardly the thinnest and lightest notebook around, but it’s surprisingly compact considering the amount of horsepower it packs.
Gigabyte’s latest 14 inch laptop is aimed at gamers and features an Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M graphics, and a 94.24 Wh battery for up to 10 hours of battery life (or less, while gaming).
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg… but those premium specs come with a premium price tag. First unveiled in May, the Gigabyte Aero 14 is now available in the US for $1599.
The notebook is available exclusively from Newegg at the moment, and there’s only one configuration available. It comes with:
- A 14 inch, 2560 x 1440 pixel IPS display
- 16GB of RAM
- 512GB solid state drive
- 802.11ac WiFI
- Bluetooth 4.1
- Windows 10 Home
While 16GB of RAM is pretty respectable, the system supports up to 32GB of DDR4 2133 MHz memory if you want to upgrade the RAM. There are two SODIMM slots).
The laptop has an HDMI port, a mini DisplayPort, three USB 3.0 ports, and one USB 3.1 Type-C port. There are stereo 1.5 watt speakers, an SD card reader, and an HD webcam.
Gigabyte’s laptop has a backlit keyboard with automatic lighting adjustment, and support for individual macro keys.
The Aero 14 measures 13.2″ x 9.8″ x 0.8.”
