Asus launched the Zenfone 3 line of smartphones in May and at the time the company introduced three models: the Zenfone 3, the Zenfone 3 Deluxe, and the Zenfone 3 Ultra.
But it looks like there will be at least two more models.
Vietnamese website Techrum reports that Asus has just introduced Zenfone 3 Max and Zenfone 3 Laser models.
The Max is a phone with a big battery and a reasonably small screen, while the Laser gets its name from the laser-assistant auto-focus available for the phone’s rear camera.
Here’s what we know about each model so far:
Asus Zenfone 3 Max
- 5.2 inch IPS display
- 4,100 mAh battery (and “power bank mode” for charging other devices)
- 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage
- Fingerprint sensor
- $200 price tag
Asus Zenfone 3 Laser
- 5.5 inch full HD display
- 13MP Sony IMX214 camera with 0.03s laser auto-focus and EIS (electronic image stabilization)
- 4GB of RAM and 32GB of storage
- Fingerprint sensor
- $269 price tag
There’s no word on if or when these phones will be available in the United States or other markets… but since the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser did get a US launch last year, there’s a decent chance we could see at least one of these Zenfone 3 variants outside of Asia in the future.
The phones join the $249 Zenfone 3 with a 5.5 inch full HD display and a Snapdragon 625 processor, the $499 Zenfone 3 Deluxe with a 5.7 inch full HD screen, a Snapdragon 820 processor, and a 23MP camera (and support for up to 6GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, and the $479 Zenfone 3 Ultra with a 6.8 inch full HD display, Snapdragon 652 processor, 4,600 mAH battery, an 23MP camera.
