Gaming equipment maker Razer may be planning to launch its first smartphone… or maybe a tablet, a VR headset, or something else. What we know is that the company is hiring a product developer for some sort of new mobile device.

Among other things, the job listing says candidates should have knowledge of “ARM systems and components,” and be “attuned with latest phones, tablets, and mobile devices.”

Not surprisingly, Razer says it would prefer someone who’s also familiar with gaming.

The company currently offers a range of gaming accessories including mice, keyboards, controllers, and headsets. But in recent years Razer has also started offering its own laptops, tablets, wearables, and Android-based game consoles.

This job posting suggests that Razer could be looking to branch out into phones.. or ARM-based tablets. It’s not clear what kind of features those devices would have to set them apart from the competition, but if I had to guess, I’d say any special features would be geared toward gamers.
