Apple unveiled a new 9.7 inch iPad today… but if you were hoping that the company would continue the trend of launching new models with more powerful specs while keeping the same starting price… well, that didn’t happen.
Priced at $599 and up, the new 9.7 inch iPad Pro is $100 more expensive than any 9.7 inch model Apple has launched to date.
The good news is that there’s a cheaper option.
Not only is Apple continuing to sell last year’s iPad Air 2 tablet. The company is giving it a price cut. Now you can pick one up for $399 and up.
The iPad Air 2 may not support the Apple Pencil or have the new “True Tone” screen which detects ambient light conditions and automatically adjusts the display. But the iPad Air 2 is still a pretty powerful tablet, with an Apple A8X chip, an M8 motion co-processor, a 2048 x 1536 pixel display, a 27.3 Whr battery and iOS 9 software.
