Hardkernel’s next single-board computer features a quad-core ARM Coretx-A53 64-bit processor, 2GB of RAM, and Gigabit Ethernet.
The ODROID-C2 will be available in March for $40, or about $5 more than the price of a Raspberry Pi 2.
Like the Raspberry Pi, this is basically a single-board computer aimed at developers and enthusiasts. But it has significantly more powerful hardware than any Raspberry Pi to date.
On the other hand, the developer community for Hardkernel’s products isn’t as big, which means you might need to do a little more work to find (or create) software for the ODROID-C2. It officially supports Ubuntu 16.04 and Android 5.1.
The new model is powered by an Amlogic S905 processor with ARM Mali-450 MP3 graphics. It has HDMI 2.0 output with support for 4K 60 Hz displays.
Other features include an eMMC 5.0 flash storage slot, four USB 2.0 host ports and one USB 2.0 OTG port for power, and a microSD card slot, 40+7 pin GPIO connectors,
The board measures about 85 x 56 and weighs 40 grams, and Hardkernel says it uses between 2 watts and 5 watts of power.
