Lenovo isn’t the only company planning to offer notebooks with Intel Xeon processors this year. Dell has announced that it will launch a new line of Precision mobile workstations with Xeon chips in the fourth quarter of 2015.

The new Dell Precision laptops will feature Intel’s new Xeon E3-1200 Skylake chips for mobile devices and the notebooks will be available with AMD or NVIDIA graphics.

There will be at least four different models at launch. The Dell Precision 15 5510 is the slimmest and lightest Dell mobile workstation to date, measuring about 0.67 inches thick and weighing about 3.9 pounds. It’ll have a starting price of $1,399.

Dell Precision 15 3510 notebook is a more affordable model that’s a bit chunkier and not quite as speedy. But it’s still relatively slim for a high-performance maching, measuring about 0.97 inches thick. It will have a starting price of $999.

The Dell Precision 15 7510 is the most powerful 15 inch model, sporting a Ultra HD display and a starting price of $1,199.

Then there’s the $1,699 Dell Precision 17 7710, which Dell simply describes as its most powerful workstation ever.

Dell says the notebooks feature aluminum and carbon fiber cases, “InfinityEdge” displays with slim bezels (like the ones we’ve seen on the Dell XPS 13 and XPS 15 consumer notebooks).

Not only do these laptops feature powerful Intel Xeon processors, but they can be configured with some seriously heavy-duty hardware including NVIDIA Quadro or AMD FirePro graphics, and up to 64GB of RAM and 4TB of storage on some models. Even the compact Precision 15 5510 can handle up to 32GB of RAM and 2TB of solid state storage.

  1. Wow, i was not expecting the Xeon laptops to be this reasonably priced.

That Precision 15 7510 sounds like a great deal for $1200. Hopefully battery life is reasonable.
