The Moov Now is a wearable fitness tracker that offers up to 6-months of battery life, works with a smartphone to act as a “fitness coach” by providing tips for improving your workout, and which lets you pair multiple devices for more accurate measurements, by letting you strap one to each wrist and another to an ankle.
Moov started taking pre-orders for the Moov Now in July, and it looks like the device should begin shipping soon: it just passed through the FCC.
The retail price for the fitness tracker is $99, but it’s available for pre-order for $60 (or less if you buy multiple units).
Unlike some wearable activity trackers, the Moov Now has no display. Instead, it’s a small disk that fits inside a wrist or ankle-strap while it quietly monitors your movements. Data is synchronized with an Android or iOS device over a Bluetooth Low Energy connection, and the device uses a replaceable CR2032 watch battery that should provide up to half a year of battery life.
The Moov Now is waterproof, supports third-party heart rate monitors, and works with digital coaching software that can provide feedback about your swimming, cycling, or running performance, among other things.
why was my comment which only wanted to share what i found when deciding to buy that device or not and so may have helped others seeing some of the negative sides to been deleted???
Spam is something completly different…
Thats simply ridiculous…
Looks a whole lot like a Misfit flash or shine. And by a whole lot I mean exactly
by looks maybe – by features it is a different thing – moov is more like a sports tracker than daily tracker.
Who in the world needs a device to track THEIR fitness?
Is it damage to the pineal gland and hypothalamus from Fluoride intake, causing people to be so disconnected from their own body, they have to get a surveillance device?
Maybe a GPS earring tracker is next, in case you get completely separated from your body?
Not to mention, all this overload of wireless frequencies does NOT help your body’s fitness or mental cohesion.
It isn’t needed, but it is nice to be able to count calories during exercise. However, wearing 3 of these devices at a time as the article suggests is a little too much monitoring for me.
The article does not suggest that ;). It only shows where you should wear one device (also for some sports two are supported/support is planned (then you simply use both wrists/ankles)).
btw: wtf? “damage to the pineal gland and hypothalamus from Fluoride intake” This is a site about electronic stuff… Someone sounds like beeing into pseudoscience… you better get away from the computer fast – cause all these frequencies…
Take toothpaste and swallow all of it
Before buying one of these, people need to keep in mind that support for Bluetooth Low Energy (aka Bluetooth Smart) requires android 4.3 or newer. My current android phone has Bluetooth 4.0 hardware but since it is stuck on Andoid 4.1.2 it can’t talk to the Bluetooth Low Energy devices.
