HP is launching education-focused versions of some of its recent computers. The HP Spectre Pro x360 is basically the same as the HP Spectre x360 ultrabook and the HP Chromebook 11 G4 is a minor update to last year’s model.
One of the more interesting models is the HP Pro x360 G2, which is basically the education and/or business version of the latest HP Pavilion x360 convertible laptop.
The convertible laptop features an 11.6 inch, 1366 x 768 pixel touchscreen display, an Intel Celeron N3050 or Intel Pentium N3700 Braswell processor, and it will ship with a choice of Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit or Windows 8.1 Pro for Education 64-bit software.
The HP Pro x360 G2 will be available with 64GB to 256GB of M.2 SATA solid state storage or a 500 GB hard drive, and supports up to 8GB of RAM.
It features dual-band 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 and features a Gigabit Ethernet jack, HDMI and headset jacks, two USB 3.l0 ports, and a USB 2.0 port.
The HP Pro x360 G2 measures 12.1″ x 8.2″ x 0.9″ and weighs about 3.3 pounds with a 2-cell, 32 Whr battery. Some models may also be available with a 3-cell, 48 Whr battery up to 10 hours of run time.
It should be available soon for $449 and up.
