Samsung is expanding its line of Android tablets with new models sporting 8 and 9.7 inch screens. Both of the tablets are part of the new Samsung Galaxy Tab A family and they’ll be available starting in April.

The company introduced the Galaxy Tab A series tablets at an event in Russia, where they’re expected to sell for about $275 and up.

Both the 8 and 9.7 inch models feature 1.2 GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 processors, 16GB of storage, microSD card slots, and they’ll be available in WiFi-only or 4G LTE versions.

They tablets have 1024 x 768 pixel displays and front and rear cameras.

The 8 inch version will have 1.5GB of RAM and a 4200 mAh battery, while the 9.7 inch model has 2GB of RAM and a 6000 mAh battery.

Samsung is expected to charge about $275 for a WiFi-only Galaxy Tab A with an 8 inch screen, $339 for an LTE model, and $339 for a WiFi-only 9.7 inch model or about $404 for an LTE version.

There’s no word on if or when the Galaxy Tab A will be available outside of Russia.

  3. Nice to see 4:3 ratio. Are the screens AMOLED? Wish they were 1600×1200 though.
    Can’t expect 2048×1536 as they are probably keeping it for Tab S. Or maybe 2560×1920 for Tab S?
