The Lenovo N21 Chromebook is an 11.6 inch laptop with an Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail processor and a semi-rugged case designed for use in the classroom. It’s an affordable, portable, and fanless laptop aimed at the education market.

The Chromebook first popped up about a month ago, and now Brent Sullivan notes that it’s available for purchase from a number of stores for about $220 and up.

Lenovo’s Bay Trail Chromebook is available with 2GB to 4GB of RAM and features 16GB of storage. It has a 1366 x 768 pixel display, 802.11ac WiFI, Bluetooth 4.0, HDMI, an SD card reader, a USB 3.0 port and a USB 2.0 port.

Special features of this laptop include a water-resistant keyboard, reinforced ports and hinges, a drop-resistant case that’s said to be able to withstand bumps and drops from about 2.3 feet, and a non-slip textured surface.

There’s also a rotatable 720p camera which can face the student or face away from the laptop and a retractable handle for carrying the Lenovo N21 Chromebook like a brief case… but without a case.

Lenovo says the laptop has a 36 Wh battery that should be good for up to 9.5 hours of run time, and which can be replaced by school IT departments.

While the Lenovo N21 is aimed at the education market, anyone can pick one up from retailers including CDW, TigerDirect, and Amazon.

  1. Superfish kings will have to create something special if they ever want my money again. This is just another same as every other Chrome-book out there so I will buy from a non-Superfish company.
