The Asus Transformer Book T300 Chi is a 2-in-1 tablet with a 12.5 inch display, an Intel Core M processor, and a detachable keyboard that transforms the tablet into a laptop.
First unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, the Transformer Book T300 Chi is now available from the Microsoft Store for $699.
Looking for something a little smaller and cheaper? The 10 inch Transformer Book T100 Chi will cost $499 when it goes on sale soon.
Update:Â The T100 Chi is now available for $399 and up.
The $699 model features a 1920 x 1080 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, 128GB of solid state storage, and an Intel Core M-5Y10c Broadwell processor with Intel HD 5300 graphics.
Asus also plans to offer a model with a 2560 x 1440 pixel display, 4GB of RAM, and a faster Core M-5Y71 processor for about $200 more.
The Transformer Book T300 Chi has a micro HDMI port, a USB 3.0 port, a headset jack, 802.11n WiFi, Bluetooth, and a microSd card reader.
The tablet alone measures 12.5″ x 7.5″ x 0.3″ and weighs 1.6 pounds. Add the dock and the T300 Chi becomes a 3.2 pound laptop that measures 0.64 inches thick.
Early reviews suggest the system offers decent build quality and performance, but suffers from lackluster battery life and a tiny touchpad.
The smaller Asus Transformer Book T100 Chi has a similar design, but features an Intel Atom Z3755 Bay Trail processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It has a 10.1 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel screen.
And just been informed by Asus North America, …no plans to carry the T90. Shame as it was the one I’d have jumped at….
Oh wow… look at that supper glossy screen 🙂 I can clearly see Brad Linder’s goatee… Does anyone really buy this stuff in 2015?
Will the T1000 be composed of liquid mimetic metal?
This is total s***. 6h of battery, Bluetooth keyboard, no presure sensetivity for stylus.
Doesn’t the stylus have 256 levels of pressure sensitivity?

Sadly the only one I wanted to buy was the T90, but there’s no release in sight for it. Isn’t the T100 chi supposed to start at $399 for hte 32gb version?
I’m also interested in the T90. But I’m pretty disappointed that the T300 Chi, and the T90 are using Bluetooth connection for the keyboards. Its not a deal-breaker, but I would prefer a physical pinout.
I’m hoping to see some more competition in that form factor. I really want an 8-9″ 2-in-1, or laptop/ultrabook. I would prefer it was a fixed clamshell laptop, but I could live with it being a transformer style.
I know Toshiba is making one but I think it’s Asia only. I always loved the old Sony Vaio P which attracted me to the T90. Sadly havn’t found any other companies planning any.
I’d prefer something like an 8-9″ Zenbook. But I’m going to buy the T90 when it comes out.
Man just get an Acer Aspire Switch and call it a day.
