Microsoft has unveiled a new member of the Surface family. The upcoming Surface Hub isn’t a portable tablet like the Surface Pro 3… it’s an 84 inch all-in-one computer designed for use in enterprise environments.
It has cameras, a touchscreen, sensors, and the Surface Hub runs Windows 10 software.
You can use it as a digital whiteboard for use with OneNote, or as a video conferencing system with Skype.
The Surface Hub has a 4K display, dual cameras, support for multitouch finger input or a digital pen, and it can run any of the software available for smaller Windows 10 devices such as desktops or notebooks. But there’s also a suite of apps designed for taking notes, manipulating images or presentations, and more.
An 84 inch tablet!
Holy Cr.p Batman! Can you use it to play Xbox one games?
Assuming you hook an Xbox up to it, sure. I got to see some of these a few years back when they were just starting development on them, and many of them had Xboxes hooked up to them. At the time, they were a joint venture – MS had just bought the company developing the tech. It was a pretty cool place – snacks and toys everywhere, post-its all over the walls, and lots of comfy, funky furniture. Based on my extremely small sampling size, MS looks like a fun place to work.
