Vivo’s latest smartphone is one of the world’s thinnest: the Vivo X5 Max is just 4.75mm (less than 0.19 inches) thick).
While the slim design of the phone is its most notable feature, the rest of the specs look pretty good for a mid-range device. It’s not clear if the phone will be available outside of China, India, and other Asian markets anytime soon though.
The Vivo X5 Max features a 5.5 inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel Super AMOLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 ARmv8 processor, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, and a microSDXC card slot for up to 128GB of removeable storage.
The phone supports 4G LTE, has a 13MP rear camera with a Sony IMX214 sensor and a 5MP front camera and it’s powered by a 2000mAH battery. It runs a custom version of Android 4.4 KitKat which Vivo calls “Funtouch OS 2.0” and the phone will go on sale in China later this month for 2998 yuan, or about $486.
