E Fun has been offering dirt cheap tablets for a few years. But they just keep getting cheaper and cheaper, while the specs don’t seem to get any worse.
If you’ve got a few hundred bucks to spend on a tablet you’re still probably better off getting a Google Nexus 7 or a Samsung tablet. But if you’ve only got $79 to spend, E Fun’s new Nextbook 7 doesn’t look like a bad tablet for the price.
The new Nextbok 7 features a Mediatek MT8127 ARM Cotex-A7 quad-core processor, a 1024 x 600 pixel display, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage, 802.11n WiFI, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, HDM output, and a 0.3MP front-facing camera.
The tablet runs Google Android 4.4 KitKat, features the Google Play Store and comes with a few pre-loaded apps including NOOK, VUDU, and Flixter.
The Nextbook 7 has a 3000mAh battery and measures 7.6″ x 4.4″ x 0.37″.
It’s sold exclusively at Walmart.
Still better, if that image (presumably a render) is to be believed, the display aspect is more Nexus-ish than the decidedly bargain-bucket 1024×600 stated.
