NVIDIA’s next tablet is on the way. While the company hasn’t officially announced a new tablet yet, a product page for a Shield tablet showed up on NVIDIA’s website briefly in June, and a device that may or may not be the Shield Tablet hit the FCC recently.

Now the tablet has shown up at the Global Certification Forum website.

According to the GCF listing, at least some models of the tablet will support 3G and 4G networks… but that’s about all we know for certain.

Rumors suggest the tablet will support NVIDIA GameStream technology, allowing you to stream games from a PC to the tablet over an internet connection — which would let you play PC games that might otherwise be too resource-intensive for an Android tablet.

It’s likely that the tablet will also have NVIDIA’s new Tegra K1 processor with 192-core graphics.

The original NVIDIA Shield isn’t a tablet at all. Instead it’s a handheld game console with a 5 inch touchscreen attached to an Xbox-style video game controller. NVIDIA’s expected to update that device with new hardware soon as well.

  1. you will notice that there is no indented area for screen hinges when compared to the nvidia shield 1 FCC picture. It looks more likely that it will be a wireless controller for the new shield tablet. I seriously hope that my assumption is wrong and that we see a proper nvidia shield 2.

  2. Hope they market it well. Would be nice to see more Nvidia enabled devices roaming around these parts of town.
