Asus may have just finished introducing a new line of Android tablets with 7, 8, and 10 inch screens and Intel Atom processors. But it looks like the company might not be finished.

An unannounced Asus tablet showed up in the database of benchmark utility GFXBench, and it looks like the tablet features an 8.9 inch screen and an Intel Atom Z3745 quad-core Bay Trail processor.

The tablet has an 8.9 inch, 1920 x 1200 pixel display and what looks like 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

It has a 4.7MP rear camera, a 1.2MP front-facing camera, WiFi, Bluetoth, GPS, and the tablet runs Android 4.4 KitKat software.

It’s not clear if or when this tablet will hit the streets, or what it’ll be called if it does. For now, it seems to have the model number of Asus K014.

  1. Now add that HDMI slot that was missing from the last batch and we just might have a winner….

  2. Asus must be in the “throw it up on the wall and see what sticks” mode. This is probably the 5th bay trail tablet revealed thus far, (and the 3rd 8″-9″ bay trail tablet so far)

    1. It’s business as usual for Asus, they release multiple models every year…

Mind, part of the range is to cover different price ranges from entry, to budget, to more premium options/business class products… but there’s also a bit of experimenting and that’s something Asus is pretty much known for by now…

      1. Just 2 years ago, they had like, a total of 3 tablets (not counting the Nexus 7) Now, they’ve got more than dozen (yes, I’m counting the 2-in-1s and convertibles)

        1. Uh, you haven’t been following them very closely if you think they only had a few tablets two years ago…

Maybe you’re thinking of three years ago when they had to transition from their Eee PCs to mobile products?

Anyway, regardless of what type of product, Asus is known for providing multiple models for multiple price ranges and experimenting with features… So this isn’t new behavior for them…

          1. I think you are right. It was probably more like 3 years ago, but oh what a difference that year makes. Asus went from something like 3 tablets to 8 or more and now they’ll have over a dozen. Those Asus people are crazy I tell you! 😉

          2. Yup, but they keep things interesting… Coming out with products like the Padfone, Transformer Book V, etc…

          3. I appreciate that Asus comes out with a lot of interesting and differentiating products, but it’s also a warning sign when a company starts diversifying it’s product lines dramatically.

      1. Actually, the rumor has it that the next Nexus 8 is going to be 8.9.

    1. Unlikely… It doesn’t have NFC while every recently released Nexus device has it.

  3. Sounds decent – will love to see it and more details when it comes out!
