Toshiba’s new $199 Windows tablet may be cheap, but the company’s next Android tablet is even cheaper. The Toshiba Excite Go launches in July for just $110.
For that price you get a 7 inch tablet with Android 4.4 KitKat and a quad-core processor. What you don’t get are a high-resolution display or a crazy fast processor… but the Toshiba Excite Go looks like it should at least be competitive with other dirt cheap tablets like the HP 7 Plus.
The tablet features a 7 inch, 1024 x 600 pixel display, an Intel Atom quad-core processor, and 16GBÂ of storage.
It also has a microSDXC card slot which lets you add up to 128GB of removable storage. Toshiba says the tablet should offer up to 8 hours of battery life during “general use” or up to 6.5 hours while playing videos.
The Toshiba Excite Go weighs about 12.5 ounces. It’ll be available in white or silver.
This is good for videos. That is its primary use in China.
whats the use for equipping such a powerful Soc with such crappy display
That’s very Toshiba.
They spent more on the processor and less on the screen because the processor has the most effect on the actual use of the product. The display isn’t impressive but it’s not going to hamper usability (unless you’re trying to do more than you should with a $100 tablet). Makes sense.
